My Weekend at HOTS (House on Trigo Street)

So...Santa Barbara is definitely the chillax place. It was cool seeing Rochelle again because she's a boss, but that's just a given.

It's too bad I don't have a camera, because I definitely would've taken pictures of their house. It looks awesome. You walk in and one wall of the living room is covered half with forest-themed wallpaper and the other half with wilting old sheet music layered over each other. Then they have a wall of a bunch of random records. The house had a busted door, so the owners replaced it before they moved in and they kept the door, spraypainted it red and hung it sideways above the TV. It had a bunch of holes in it too. At night, people would find it great entertainment.

They have our old old kitchen table, which is sweet. And yeah. Two bathrooms, two bedrooms, four people, one floor. Pretty sweet deal.

College kids are great. The funny thing is that a lot of the myths are true. They are the typical poor college kid, and the food in their pantry/refrigerator/any kind of food is strictly off limits and protected like a sacred diety.

But it's all good because there's some sweet places to eat just a few blocks from the house. Boba, Pita Pit, this burger joint Deja Vu, and the Holy Grail of Santa Barbara dining, Freebirds. Or is it Freeb!rds? Anyway, I f-king love burritos and they were amazing. AND it's open 24 hours.

Luckily, so as to not murder our wallets, Sean brought eight packages of top ramen for when we got hungry but didn't want to go out to buy food. Top ramen is boss.

Sean can exemplify the college atmosphere with his Saturday morning breakfast: a 40 and a warm bowl of top ramen. Huzzah

HOTS is on the corner of Trigo Street, and tends to get party traffic going from the campus to Del Playa, which is "the" street. When it seemed as if the amount of scenesters were multiplying by the second on Saturday, Me Rochelle Sean Lauren and B$ decided to wander our asses to Deja Vu for some tasty burgers. Meanwhile, Matt and other people held the fort down and others chilled

It was great though. I'm definitely going back. Some highlights include:

Rochelle's attempt to make a hole in the broken door
Some random scenester walks out of the door and this dude Jon is like, "Dude, what happened to your shirt" and he said "It got burned off by the fire" and so I started making an imaginary fire
Genevieve's thizz dancing and Cal High ranting
Chris Arthur passing out before people started coming
The shouting match of Money Mike vs. Chris Arthur at the end of the night: "Do you even know what a wompa is? Do you even know what NASCAR is? Do you even know what the Nextel cup is?" "Shut the fuck up" "Show your face you coward"
Random ass dude who wouldn't stop talking about how big 8Ball from Three 6 Mafia is for fifteen minutes. "Dude be quiet." "I can't be quiet because you can't believe how big 8Ball is!!!"
