I thought it was cool that everyone's "underlying message" paragraph that we had to write for Manzanar in our group related to them as much as it did to the book.

Mine was about finding yourself or something, Bryan's was about discrimination, and Felicia's was about importance of family, and I guess to each of us it made us think about things that we felt strongly about.
